Grafana Incident makes incident management easier by automating common tasks and giving teams a dedicated place to work.
Why use Grafana Incident?
- It’s easy to forget to do basic things under the pressure of a live incident - Grafana Incident does them for you.
- Bots let you manage incidents right in the chat box. Get status updates, assign roles, manage tasks, and more.
- Add notes, URLs and even Grafana graphs to the incident’s timeline, improving collaboration and enriching postmortems at the same time.
Additional details
Am I an ideal candidate to get early access? We’re looking for users with the following attributes:
- You currently have no incident response management practices or tools in place.
- You have the (hopefully only occasional) need for people to drop everything to put out fires.
- You are worried that your teams don’t have enough experience managing incidents.
Does it cost anything to join the early access program? No, the Grafana Incident Early Access Program is free.
Will Grafana Incident interfere with any of my current Grafana instances? We will enable the new application in a Grafana Cloud instance of your choice. The app optionally pulls dashboard and other data to help with incidents, but does not modify anything.
What does Grafana Incident do?
- It creates your Slack channel for you and your Zoom meeting space.
- It lets you assign important roles that follow industry standard practices so that everybody knows who’s doing what.
- It lets you manage TODO items so no tasks fall through the cracks.
- It builds up a timeline of events to make your postmortems richer and better informed.
- Integrations into your other Grafana data optionally provide additional insights to help your teams diagnose incidents.
Is this a sign that Grafana is investing in incident response management (IRM)?
Indeed it is. With Grafana OnCall now generally available, people are properly alerted when something goes wrong. When things get serious, Grafana Incident is there to guide teams during the initial firefighting, solving the root issue and streamlining postmortem discussions.
